Ontario kicked off a new season of the LevelUp! Skilled Trades Career Fairs this week in Thunder Bay at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition.
“I encourage students and parents from across Ontario to participate in this exciting opportunity to explore the trades,” said Labour Minister Monte McNaughton.
The multi-day career fair events bring together skilled trades professionals across industry organizations, post-secondary institutions, businesses and associations. This fall the program was expanded to more locations across the province from September to November.
For students in grades 7 to 12, Level Up! can be the first step toward a career in industries that are constantly innovating, on the cutting edge of emerging technologies, and making a critical difference in people’s lives by providing them with immersive, hands-on experiences.
Each school board has been allocated a maximum number of tickets as spaces are limited. School boards participating in OYAP can connect directly with their OYAP recruiter on any questions related to ticket allocations. For school boards not participating in OYAP, please reach out to levelup@ontario.ca.
The next job fair will be held Sept. 27 and 28 at the Machine Shop, 83 Huron Street in Sault Ste. Marie.
