The Ontario Ministry of Transport has selected UK-based Carillion as the preferred bidder for the Thunder Bay area highway maintenance contract, worth more than $168 million over 11 years.

The project is one of several Canadian outsourced highway maintenance contracts, totalling about $842 million, of which the majority are contract renewals.

“This further reinforces Carillion’s position as the largest provider of outsourced highways maintenance services in Canada and reflects our ability to provide high-quality cost-effective solutions for our customers, with whom we have developed strong long-term partnerships,” said Carillion Group CEO Richard Howson.
