The Sudbury Design Society has recognized two local organizations in the  2012 Good Design Awards.

Mark Gregorini won for changes made to the popular family restaurant Verdicchio. Aside from changing the name to Verdicchio/Enoteca to indicate an expansion of the wine bar, a wine tasting room and new entrance were added and plans are underway to double the 100-seating banquet room.

Carrefour Francophone, represented by executive director Stephane Gauthier,  received the second award for an innovative redesign of its logo and website, paying tribute to the “crossroads” — Carrefour’s meaning.

Created in 2008, the Sudbury Design Society is a member-based non-profit organization, headed by a 12-member board of directors. It’s goal is to raise the value and visibility of good design in greater Sudbury and to provide networking opportunities, professional development and advocacy for the design industry.
